CUMBERLAND — Allegany College of Maryland announced the start of its 2024 fall softball campaign.
“We are very excited to be able to start off school with a bang and get right into it,” Trojans head coach Rick Twigg said. “We’ve received many compliments already about the ladies being so committed to the program, completing schoolwork and training various days of the week as well as already hosting a clinic over Labor Day holiday weekend. We are anxious to see how the fall ball season goes.”
The Trojans’ returning sophomores include: Ryanne Martinez, Nakiya Copes, Makenna Richards, Morgan Nelling and Emma Komatz.
Its newcomers are:
• Kayla Hill (Marion Center Area), RHP
• Briannah Lucas (Grassfield), RHP
• Brylee Bateson (Conestoga Valley), RHP
• Gabby Pendo (California, Pa.), 1B/C
• Alexis Heavner (Fort Hill), 1B/OF
• Hailee Jenkins (Hampshire), C
• Natalie Melby (Williamsport), 2B/SS
• Jaynie Simpkins (Catonsville), 1B/OF
Season Highlights:
• Opening Day: The Trojans will kick off their season on Sept. 14 with a doubleheader against Hagerstown Community College in Hagerstown.
Key Matchups:
• Sept. 21: Doubleheader at Frederick Community College.
• October 19: Doubleheader at Penn State Mont Alto.
• October 26: Home doubleheader against Howard Community College.
• November 9: Home doubleheader against Hagerstown Community College.
