CUMBERLAND — Chris Manherz and Landyn Ansel combined for 37 points to guide Allegany past city rival Bishop Walsh, 70-24, on Friday night.
Allegany (2-3) led 24-5 after a quarter, 34-18 at the half and 57-22 at the end of three periods.
Manherz tallied a game-high 22 points, seven steals and five assists, and Ansel scored 15. Manherz buried four 3-pointers, and Ansel made three treys. Landon Holliday added eight points and 10 rebounds, and Owen Rice scored seven.
Michael Cannon dished out a team-high six assists.
David DiNola led the way for Bishop Walsh (1-6) with 13 points, and Ofek Cohen-Inbar scored eight.
Allegany competes in the South Hagerstown Christmas tournament next Friday and Saturday. Bishop Walsh is off until a home game with Paw Paw (1-3) on Jan. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
Union 83, Paw Paw 75
PAW PAW, W.Va. — Three Union scorers finished with at least 18 points, as Union bounced back at Paw Paw Friday to improve to 4-1.
Union jumped out to a 27-10 lead and held edges of 48-24 at the half and 66-41 after three quarters. Paw Paw (1-3) battled back to single digits, winning the fourth, 34-17, but the Pirates couldn’t get over the hump.
Paw Paw’s Donovan Tanouye led all scorers with 38 points, and Taylor Carder added 23.
Corbin Streets paced the Tigers with 26 points, Eric Linkswiler scored 19 and Braylon Ward added 18.
Union faces Petersburg (2-1) on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Vikings’ holiday tournament. Paw Paw takes on Blacklick Valley, Pennsylvania, in a tournament game on Friday at 7 p.m.
Liberty 63, Petersburg 51
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Petersburg took a narrow 38-36 advantage into the fourth, but Baustin Bowers recorded 15 of his game-high 30 points in the period to lead Liberty to victory Friday.
The Vikings (2-1) had three double-figure scorers in Caden Ours (15), Payton Metheny (14) and Peyton Tingler (13). Kaleb Kuhn tallied eight points before fouling out in the fourth.
Jackson Stark joined Bowers in double digits for Liberty with 12 points.
Petersburg welcomes Union on Friday at 7 p.m.
