BEVERLY — The Beverly Public Library is inviting all adults in the community to read “The Bear” by Andrew Krivak between April 6 and May 15, as part of the Beverly Reads initiative.
The novel follows a father and daughter who are the last two humans on Earth, and transports readers to a different time and place where they will reflect on nature, humanity and family, the library said in a statement.
“The Bear” received the Banff Mountain Book Prize for fiction, the Massachusetts Book Award and was a four-time National Endowment for the Arts Big Read title, according to Kirvak’s website.
Krivak will give an author’s talk at the library’s main branch on Friday, May 15, at 6:30 p.m., followed by a reception with live music, a cash bar and books for sale through Copper Dog.
Visit www.beverlypubliclibrary.org/beverlyreads to reserve a copy of “The Bear” and sign up for the author’s talk.
