It’s that time again … the time when those 18 and older have their own reading slowdown and enjoy their time.
Art Circle Public Library’s reading program for adults, Baby It’s Cold Outside, Let’s Stay In and Read, takes place Jan. 1-March 31, 2026.
Margo Brown, adult services librarian, describes the program as the library’s version of the children’s and teens summer reading program, targeting adults. It is open to all adults in Cumberland and surrounding counties.
“This program is to promote adult literacy in Cumberland County and to encourage those who already read to read even more or read to others,” she said. “For every book, e-book or audiobook that you enjoy, your name will be entered into a weekly prize drawing.”
Brown said the library will keep all titles on file for participants, who will be entered into a final drawing for the grand prize.
“The more you read, the more entries you will have towards the prize drawings,” she added.
Those wishing to participate are asked to register at the Adult Services Desk at the library at 3 East St., or call 931-484-6790 ext. 235.
Contributions for prizes are made possible by Friends of the Library, Art E. Gernt Insurance, Smart Bank and VEC Customers Share.
