MONTGOMERY, Ala. – According to the Alabama Department of Corrections Law Enforcement Services Division, Friday, April 19, 2024, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency SWAT and Limestone County Sheriff’s Office executed search and arrest warrants at the home of Chadwick Crabtree, warden at Limestone Correctional Facility, and his wife, Melissa Crabtree.
Both were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Limestone County Jail. They were charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana II, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Crabtree has been placed on mandatory leave without pay pending further personnel action.
LESD agents also executed a search warrant for Crabtree’s office at Limestone. The LESD investigation is ongoing and further charges may be pending.
