TIFTON — Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College softball won two more Tuesday, winning over Andrew College by 5-2 and 8-0 scores.
ABAC will take a six-game win streak into their next contest, a doubleheader at Georgia Military College April 10. The GMC series will be a big one as the schools were 1-2 in the GCAA standings as of April 4.
The Fillies won their 20th game of 2024 with a big 3rd inning that saw them score four runs. Andrew had single tallies in the 4th and 6th, but Trinity Odom scored an insurance run off the bat of Lexi Metts in the bottom half.
Kaylee Barrett stopped the Lady Tigers in the 7th for the victory. She gave up a single earned run in a complete game performance, striking out four.
Carter Gore smashed a three-run homer in the 3rd, bringing in Metts and Laney McGee. Ava Roland made the score 4-0 by doubling in Alli Eidson. Eidson had two hits for the game.
ABAC finished the sweep with a Jaci Smiley two-hitter in the second battle.
The Fillies had another four-run 3rd, then doubled that score with four more in the 5th.
Ashley Archibald hit an inside-the-park homer in the 3rd, plating Gore and Roland. Gore singled in Metts earlier in the frame.
Dylana Barton brought home Peighton Capwell in the 5th, soon coming around the bases herself on an Odom single. McGee finished up scoring with two-run double to bring home Odom and Elli Bryan.
The GMC series starts a long stretch on the road for the Fillies that will take them to the end of the regular season. The next home games are April 27, a doubleheader against East Georgia State.
