A cast of more than 40 young thespians will present an updated and musical retelling of “Alice in Wonderland” on Thursday and Friday.
The Cape Ann YMCA will present “Alice in Wonderland Jr.” at 5 p.m. July 30 and July 31 on the turf at the YMCA, 7 Gloucester Crossing Road in Gloucester.
Director Heidi Dallin, an award-winning Gloucester actress, and the YMCA Theater Team have been working over the past three weeks to bring Alice’s magical adventures in Wonderland to life on stage. On the team are Music Director Anthony Prestigiovanni, music teacher at Gloucester’s West Parish Elementary School; Choreographer Sarah Vanderpool of Rockport; and Stage Manager Matthias Kostecki of Gloucester.
This musical adaptation includes the beloved Disney songs “I’m Late,” “The Unbirthday Song,” and “Painting the Roses Red” as well as music from the 2010 Tim Burton live-action film.
