A bouncing block party thanks first responders in Lawrence

LAWRENCE — With a bouncy house, food and games, a city street corner became the backdrop to show appreciation for police, firefighters and ambulance workers.
Sunday evening the “First Reponder Appreciation” block party was held at the corner of the Wilmot and Avon streets.
All first responders and family ate for free. Donations were collected for the Lawrence Hometown Heroes Memorial Fund.
Sponsors were Eli’s Place Breakfast Cafe and Community Baptist Church.
