KENOSHA, Wis. — The Traverse City Pit Spitters dropped out of first place with a 5-3 loss to Kenosha.
The Spitters are a game above .500 after Monday’s Northwoods League baseball game in front of 3,318 fans at Simmons Field in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Josh Stonehouse drove in two of TC’s three runs, with the other RBI going to center fielder Zach Carlson.
Traverse City had only four hits, from Stonehouse, Josh Polubinski, Sam Kaczmarek (a double) and Colin Sander, who also walked twice.
Jake Ickes took the loss, with Kenosha scoring all five runs in the first two innings. Bryce Suiter came on for five innings of relief work, striking out six and giving up only two hits. Josh Klug (Traverse City Central) struck out two in a hitless eighth inning.
Kenosha produced only six hits, with Cole Ide hitting a two-run home run.
The Pit Spitters return home Wednesday with four games in three days against Battle Creek, including a day-night doubleheader Thursday, then two games hosting Richmond over the weekend.
