HAVERHILL — Three men were arrested in connection with a shooting in a residential neighborhood Thursday morning.
The Haverhill Police Department responded to reports of shots fired about 11:30 a.m. near Emerson and Welcome streets, according to authorities.
Officers found several shell casings. Property was damaged, including a black Honda SUV that had been struck by the bullets. No injuries were reported, and the area was secured and roadways reopened.
Police said three men from Haverhill — Riley Quinn, 18; Timothy Mossey, 18; and Richard Santana, 25 — were arrested and expected to be arraigned Friday in Haverhill District Court.
The men are expected to face multiple firearm and assault charges. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
The Police Department said the incident appears to be isolated and there is no threat to the public.
About 2 p.m., the Police Department stated the incident was being investigated, advising people to avoid the area while officers were at the scene.
By 3 p.m., Haverhill police cleared the scene. The SUV that was struck was parked near the intersection and its owner, Bill Symonovit, was seen clearing broken glass from the road. The vehicle’s windows were shattered by gunfire.
“I’m glad to be alive,” Symonovit said.
