The Commonwealth Conference was supposed to be wide-open this year. Defending champ Whittier Tech had graduated a ton, left with only three returning starters, and likely wasn’t going to be involved in the race.
Kaylee Habib took that on as one final challenge in her high school career.
The Wildcat pitcher, our 2025 Eagle-Tribune Player of the Year, put together an amazing season both in the field and at the plate, back-boning Whittier’s charge, not just to the CAC title but also the State Vocational championship for the second straight year.
A four-year starter and two-time Eagle-Tribune All-Star, Habib pitched all 23 Wildcat games, going 19-4 with a 0.77 ERA and 255 strikeouts in 144 innings of work.
Habib tossed five no-hitters and a perfect game.
The three-time Whittier Tech MVP finished her career with 73 victories and 694 strikeouts.
At the plate, she was equally as lethal. Habib led the area with a .584 average, smacking 45 hit including six homers. She scored 34 runs and drove in 24.
Over her career, she surpassed the 100-hit mark.
Habib, who also played volleyball and basketball at Whittier Tech, will continue playing softball in college at the Wentworth Institute of Technology.
