In a program as rich in tradition as Andover High field hockey, greatness is earned, not granted.
Chloe Broderick has put in the hard work from Day 1 in emerged this past fall, carving out her spot with the very best.
Broderick, our 2025 Eagle-Tribune Player of the Year, helped power the Warriors to a 15-1-2 regular season mark – the only loss coming to state powerhouse Uxbridge – and a trip to the Division 1 state quarterfinals.
“Chloe can play in any position on the field, and does so without complaint,” said Warrior coach Bridget Morris of the Merrimack Valley Conference Division 1 Player of the Year. “This year as a junior she made the swap back to midfield where she was a vital component on both our offense and defense. She is a leader on all of our offensive corners. An unselfish player, she inserts, receives, takes direct hits, and distributes passes. She also plays trail on our defensive corners.”
Against Acton-Boxborough in the D-1 Round of 16, Broderick, who was named to the MSFHCA Rising Sophomore squad in 2024, made a defensive save on the goal line then two minutes later flipped the field and scored the lone goal of the night in the Warrior win.
Broderick had a goal and 11 assists with three defensive saves. For her career, she has nine goals and 21 assists, including a goal in the 2024 state semifinal.
“Her balanced offensive and defensive skills are what made it easy to select her for the MVC Player of the Year,” said Morris of her 2026 captain-elect.
Broderick’s older sister Anna was a two-time state champ who currently plays at Wesleyan. Her oldest sister, Olivia, also played for Andover.
