PLATTSBURGH — Clinton County District Attorney Andrew J. Wylie today announced the conviction of two individuals arrested and charged with trafficking nearly one kilogram of crack cocaine, with an estimated street value between $40,000 and $50,000, from New York City to Clinton County.
Lakiem Williams, 40, and Antoine Shelborne, 38, both from Queens County, were arrested Nov. 19, 2025, following a surveillance operation.
Law enforcement officers stopped the vehicle in which Williams and Shelborne were passengers on Broad Street in the City of Plattsburgh. Members of the Adirondack Drug Task Force discovered the narcotics inside a backpack the pair had been observed carrying prior to the stop.
Williams appeared in Clinton County Court on June 5 and pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 11. He is expected to receive a ten year prison sentence, according to a press release from the District Attorney’s Office.
Shelborne appeared in Clinton County Court on June 12 and also pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 18 and is expected to receive an eight year prison sentence, according to the same release.
The investigation was led by the City of Plattsburgh Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit with assistance from other member agencies of the Adirondack Drug Task Force.
The cases were prosecuted by Clinton County Assistant District Attorney Jeffrey Kehm.
“A great deal of credit goes to our state and federal partners in the Adirondack Drug Task Force for their tireless work in ensuring these drugs never reach our streets,” Wylie said. “Holding individuals, such as Williams and Shelborne, accountable will always remain a top priority for my office.”
