A dogwalker discovered the bodies of two men in woods next to the Salem Walmart on Wednesday afternoon, according to police and the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.
The District Attorney’s Office along with Massachusetts State Police and the Salem police are investigating to determine the cause of death and if foul play was involved, officials said in a prepared statement.
About 2:23 p.m. on Wednesday, Salem police were called to a wooded area adjacent to the Walmart store at 450 Highland Avenue after a man walking his dog came upon what appeared to be a human body.
Responding police found the bodies of two males deceased at the location, the statement indicates.
