ST. PETER — A St. Peter man was killed and a St. Peter woman critically injured in a crash at 5:30 p.m. Monday on the south edge of St. Peter.
Robert Gardner, 79, of St. Peter died in the crash. He was a passenger in a Toyota Prius driven by Judith Gardner, 86, of St. Peter. She received life-threatening injuries.
She was going north on Highway 169 turning left onto South Washington Avenue and collided with a Hyundai Sonata that was southbound on Highway 169, driven by Daniel Kelley, 38, of Chanhassen, the State Patrol said. He received non-life threatening injuries.
The patrol said the Gardner vehicle failed to yield right away.
Shawna Mcdonald, 45, of New Prague was driving a Toyota RAV4 and had to abruptly break to avoid collision. She was not injured.
Dylan Novak, 20, of North Mankato was driving a Chevy Equinox that rear-ended the RAV4. He was not injured.
