Medic Regional Blood Center donors have the opportunity to honor the memory of Dolly Parton in September and October.
For each blood donor who chooses to forego the T-shirt and monthly incentives, Medic will donate $5 to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
The offer is open to donors who give blood at Medic Mobile drives and donor centers, including the Crossville Donor Center at 96 Hayes St.
The incentive is offered through Medic’s Skip the Gift program.
“Through August 2026, MEDIC raised over $15,000 for regional nonprofit organizations through the program,” said Medic spokeswoman Kristy Altman.
Donors can visit www.medicblood.org to find a mobile drive location or information on donation centers. Appointments are not required, but they are always encouraged and can also be made on the website.
Medic is the primary blood product provider for 24 hospitals, including Cumberland Medical Center, and air medical transport services across 23 counties.
Medic services Covenant Health System, Blount Memorial, Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital, Tennova Healthcare, and UT Medical.
“As a reminder, the blood, platelets, and plasma products on the shelves now are what would be used in a trauma event,” Altman said. “Donated blood takes at least three days to be processed and ready for distribution.”
Medic is an independent, nonprofit organization. Products donated through Medic directly help community members in East Tennessee and Southeastern Kentucky.
