ESSEX — Greenbelt is hosting its 12th annual Tour de Greenbelt community cycling event on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 9 a.m., at Greenbelt’s Cox Reservation, 82 Eastern Ave., Essex.
Participants will ride through an array of scenic forests, meadows, farmland, and salt marshes, passing more than 50 of Greenbelt’s protected properties along the way. Proceeds from the event support land conservation across the region. Registration is now open.
Tour de Greenbelt offers road and gravel routes for all experience levels, from weekend recreational riders to seasoned cyclists and adventurers looking for a new challenge. Distances range from 25 to 50 miles, and participants can register as individuals or teams. The event is supported by presenting sponsor Institution for Savings.
Post-ride festivities will take place at Cox Reservation in Essex, featuring food from A&B Burgers, Greenbelt Pilsner — a limited-edition craft beer brewed in collaboration with True North Ales — and live music. The gathering offers riders a chance to celebrate the day, relax with fellow cyclists, and connect with the Greenbelt community.
Online registration is open through Sept. 23. Day-of registration opens at 7:30 a.m. on the morning of the event.
