August Beanstack Reading Challenge: Back to School. This challenge is open to all ages, whether you’re heading back to the classroom or simply love to read. Set your goals, track your reading minutes throughout the month, and complete the challenge by Aug. 31 for a chance to win our Back to School Prize Pack.
Tuesday: Teen Crafternoons. Hang out and make cool stuff from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Second Floor Teen Space. No sign-up, no stress. Just show up and create something awesome. This week: Air-Dry Clay — shape, sculpt and bring your ideas to life. While supplies last. Intended for ages 13 – 19.
Tuesday: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under at 10 a.m. Tuesdays in the Program Room.
Wednesday: Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie – Free Library Screening. Spend your lunch hour on the prairie! Join us each Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room for free screenings of this new series. Watch two episodes each week as we follow the Ingalls family’s journey across the frontier. This week: Episodes 5 & 6. Bring your own lunch, relax, and enjoy this fresh take on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved classic.
Wednesday: Teen Writing Club. We’ve got writing prompts and games to spark your imagination and snacks to fuel your mind. While supplies last. Come write, chill, and connect with other teen writers from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Second Floor Teen Space.
Saturday: Full Season Saturday – Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie: Free Library Screening. A full day of all eight episodes of Season 1 to be shown from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room. Experience the complete journey of family, resilience, and frontier adventure during this exclusive free marathon event at the library.
Saturday: Story Time. Have a great time listening, interacting to stories and making a fun craft at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Children’s Department.
Adult/Teen Craft: Stop by the Reference Desk on the second floor for a take & make craft! Starting Aug. 1: Watercolor Kits! While supplies last.
American Conversation Project: We’re partnering with the American Conversation Project to record community conversations to be part of the National Public ACP Collection, marking the 250th Anniversary of the Nation. Everyone’s voice matters. Join a group of four to six fellow community members for a conversation about our community’s past, present, and future.
