LAWRENCE — Running for reelection is not just about campaign promises and kissing babies.
Gov. Maura Healey and Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll on Thursday made a campaign stop to talk with local kids playing basketball.
The duo stopped by the South Common where Sueños Basketball, a Lawrence-based nonprofit program that mentors and empowers young people, was in full swing.
Residents, parents, local and state leaders joined them. They met with José Dilone and his wife, Jacqueline Marte-Dilone, the co-founders of Sueños Basketball.
Suenos Basketball is committed to cultivating a passion for the sport while nurturing the personal and character development of young athletes.
