HENNING — Gary Arivett, former pastor of Shiloh Apostolic Court, is back in custody at the Vermilion County Jail.
Captain Mike Hartshorn with the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Tuesday that Arivett is back in custody.
“It is an out-of-state warrant,” said Hartshorn, noting the warrant was from Leavenworth, Kan.
Arivett’s attorney was in court for him on July 20 for charges dating back to 2023. He faces three counts of criminal sexual abuse of a family member under the age of 18.
When Arivett was originally accused of the charges, Illinois operated under cash bail. His bail amount was $100,000, which he met. He was also ordered to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 or contact with the victim or enter the victim’s residence.
For the past three years, his case has still been waiting to go to trial.
Arivett is due in court next at 9 a.m. on Sept. 1 in courtroom B at Garman Vermilion County Courthouse for pre-trial.
