MINNESOTA LAKE — A 15-year-old boy driving a Ford F-150 pickup was injured after a crash with a construction street sweeper Wednesday morning outside Minnesota Lake Township.
Around 7 a.m., the street sweeper, driven by a 62-year-old man from Zimmerman, and the 2011 Ford F-150 collided. The 15-year-old boy was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato for treatment. He was wearing a seat belt and the pickup’s airbags deployed, according to the Minnesota State Patrol report.
A 39-year-old male passenger from Wells was also in the pickup with the boy. Neither the street sweeper driver nor the passenger were treated for injuries, the report said. Names are expected to be released at a later time.
Authorities said both vehicles were traveling northbound on Highway 22 outside Minnesota Lake Township, near 550th Avenue, when they collided. The State Patrol reported the roadway was dry at the time of the crash.
