ImpactLife, the provider of blood components for local hospitals has scheduled a pair of blood drives in August for Vermilion County.
According to a release, the first blood drive will be Monday, Aug. 3 from 2:30-5 p.m. inside the Donor Bus that will be parked at 701 E. Orange St. in Hoopeston. The second blood drive will be Thursday, Aug. 6 at OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center, conference rooms 2 and 3, 812 N. Logan in Danville.
Appointments, which are requested, to donate blood can be scheduled by calling ImpactLife at 800-747-5401 or on the website www.bloodcenter.org, using the code 70609 for Hoopeston. While the Danville code is 70321 or you can call Jacob Orzier at 217-369-6545. The donation process takes 45 minutes to one hour.
Potential donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with a parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds.
A photo ID is required to donate.
Donors who last gave blood on or before June 8 are eligible to give at this drive. For other questions, call ImpactLife at 800-747-5401.
