DISTRICT 15 FINAL FOUR
Beverly 3, Hamilton-Wenham 2: In the bottom of the sixth, the bats came alive for Beverly with four straight hits to win the game after being down 2-0. Bobby McGrath’s RBI single plated the winning run after a 2-run double by Will Clark got the bout tied.
Greg Richardson and Brenden O’Connell got the rally started with back-to-back singles, with the sixth accounting for four of Beverly’s five hits in the game.
Drew Fox threw the last 3 1/3 for Beverly, striking out four and allowing just one hit. Evan Haley also pitched well, conceding just one hit over the first 2 2/3.
For Hamilton-Wenham, Will Thompson hit a 2-run double in the top of the third and Charlie Payne also stroked a double.
Boxford 10, Gloucester 0: Jake DeLeo threw a one-hit shutout and struck out nine in just four innings as Boxford remained unbeaten on the summer and advanced to face Beverly in the district semifinals on Saturday. Boxford scored eight in the bottom of the first and then put it away with two more in the fourth.
DISTRCIT 16 LITTLE LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
Lynnfield 11, Swampscott 0: The Big Blue kids suffered their first loss of the summer in the winner’s bracket semi’s, and will look to bounce back Saturday in an elimination game against Peabody West.
NEW ENGLAND COLLEGIATE BASEBALL LEAGUE
North Shore Navigators 8, Keene 4: Hamilton’s Gian Gamelli dazzled again for North Shore, striking out eight and allowing just one hit in five innings of work in the home win. Hunter Kingsbury doubled and totaled three RBI to spark the offense.
