CUMBERLAND — Bishop Walsh School announced the appointment of Shane Scott to Director of Basketball Operations on Thursday.
“In this role, Scott will oversee the vision and direction for our schoolwide basketball program while also serving as head coach of both the boys and girls varsity teams,” the press release read.
Scott recently completed his second season leading the Spartans’ girls program, guiding the program to its first winning season since 2019 with 19 victories, “while building a culture of hard work, accountability and growth,” the release read.
“Coach Scott has demonstrated a tremendous commitment to the growth and success of our student-athletes, both on and off the court,” Principal Jennifer Flinn said. “His leadership embodies the mission of Bishop Walsh School by challenging students to reach their full potential while developing strong character, faith and a lifelong commitment to excellence.”
Assistant Principal Raleigh Davis added, “Coach Scott understands that athletics are about much more than wins and losses. He is committed to developing disciplined, confident and faith-filled student-athletes.”
Summer boys basketball workouts under coach Scott will begin on June 22.
