FORT MYERS, Fla. — WVU Potomac State College alum Graham Brown is off to a strong start in his affiliated baseball career.
Brown’s contract with the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League was purchased by the Minnesota Twins on May 26.
Brown made his affiliated debut with the Low-A Fort Myers Mighty Mussels on May 28.
As of Wednesday, he’s played 12 games and is slashing .359/.435/.462.
He’s batting 14 for 39 with a home run, eight RBIs, five walks and five stolen bases.
With the Wild Things, Brown reached base in each of his first 11 games this season and had a 21-game on-base streak dating back to last season.
He also had a 17-game hitting streak snapped just before he joined the Twins organization.
Brown hit .395 with two doubles, two home runs, six RBIs and seven stolen bases.
He spent two seasons at Potomac State from 2020 to 2021.
In his sophomore season, he earned third-team All-American honors.
Against Cecil, he hit for the cycle, going 6 for 9 with a homer, two triples, two doubles, seven RBIs and six runs.
He slashed .496/.582/.784 with 17 doubles, four triples, five homers and 56 RBIs in his final season as a Catamount.
Brown finished his collegiate career at Coastal Carolina, playing for Potomac State grad Kevin Schnall.
He earned two Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week awards and was the Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week on April 10, 2023.
Brown made his professional debut last season with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League.
He earned Frontier League Player of the Week honors in May after going 12 for 22 with six RBIs and six stolen bases.
Brown slashed .279/.345/.453 with 103 hits, 26 doubles, 12 home runs and 53 RBIs.
