NHIAA Meet of Champions
The top track athletes in the Granite State will meet at Oyster River High School (Durham, N.H.) for the New Hampshire Meet of Champions on Saturday.
After earning the boys and girls Division I team titles a week ago, Pinkerton is poise to make noise.
Winston George is the top seed in the 100-meter (10.78) and No. 2 in the 200 (22.01), Joe Gustavson is seeded No. 1 in the 800 (1:53.42), John Child tops the 110 hurdles (14.88) and Jason Robie is No. 2 in the 1,600 (4:20.16) and 3,200 (9:08.30). “I’m feeling locked in,” said George. “My hamstring is healing up, I’m getting stronger every day, and I can’t wait to get back out there and break more records and run low 10s (in the dash).”
Timberlane’s Danielle Bates is seeded No. 1 in the high jump (5-8) and third in the triple jump (35-07.25), while Owls teammate Charlotte Beaudoin is No. 1 in the 200 (25.31) and 400 (65.72). “The goal is to PR in the triple jump and maybe shoot for a state record in the high jump,” said Bates. “I would at least like to jump higher than I ever have.”
Pelham boys star Osinachi Nwabueze is the top seed in the triple jump (47-9.25) and long jump (23-3.25) and No. 3 in the 100 (11.10).
