Artwork from students across Gloucester elementary schools and the preschool was on display during a reception for the expanded spring art festival Thursday.
Spring into the Arts is a schools arts festival spanning three-months celebrating student work in visual, performing and other forms of artwork. The festival began April 9 when the Gloucester High School Drama Club performed “Rock of Ages.”
In years past, the spring arts festival was jammed into one day but was expanded by the school district and the Gloucester Education Foundation this year to put less pressure on students and families to attend and make managing the festival easier on teachers.
Thursday’s reception at the Sawyer Free Library included a variety of art projects from Gloucester elementary and preschool students which has been on display since May 1.
On Friday, work from middle and high school students was on display, where it will be until the end of the month.
