Organizations across the Upper Cumberland region are invited to apply for the Arts Build Communities Grant, now open for submissions.
This funding opportunity provides up to $5,000 per project with no matching funds required, making it an accessible resource for expanding arts programming and community impact.
The application deadline is at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, July 1.
The Arts Build Communities Grant supports a wide range of arts-related projects and programs taking place between Aug. 16, 2026-June 15, 2027.
Eligible initiatives include music, theatre, and dance performances; visual arts, crafts, and exhibitions; literary and folk arts programming; and community-based arts projects that enhance quality of life and strengthen cultural assets.
Projects should demonstrate a strong commitment to community engagement and meaningful local impact.
Applicants must be nonprofit 501c3 organizations or government entities within the Upper Cumberland region.
To assist prospective applicants, the Upper Cumberland Development District will conduct a free virtual grant workshop at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29.
Participants can join from anywhere, and a meeting link will be provided upon registration.

The Arts Build Communities Grant continues to make a significant difference across Tennessee.
In Fiscal Year 2024 alone, the program reached more than 379,000 Tennesseans and supported more than 240,000 youth through arts and cultural initiatives.
