Cumberland House Hospice Auxiliary welcomes the public to take part in its annual butterfly release celebration of life Saturday, June 20.
The program begins at 10 a.m. at the Cumberland County Courthouse gazebo and lawn in downtown Crossville. Those attending are advised to bring lawn chairs for seating.
Sherry Koch is chairwoman of the butterfly release. She said it “is an uplifting, joyful experience remembering those we have loved and lost or those whom we wish to honor.
“The program includes a reading of the names we are celebrating or honoring, butterfly poems, special music and the release of the butterflies,” she added.
Butterflies must be preordered by May 22 to arrive in time. The donation for each butterfly is $25 for one name to be memorialized or honored or $100 for five names.
Those wishing to preorder butterflies are asked to send their check to Cumberland House Hospice Auxiliary, P.O. Box 1943, Crossville, TN 38558-1943. Denote “Butterfly Release” on the check and include a printed list of names and any special pronunciation of names of those to be honored.
