TICONDEROGA — Rowen Bechtold and Trevor Blanchard had big games Thursday to power Ticonderoga to a 15-2 victory over Saranac Lake in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference baseball.
Bechtold went five innings for the pitching win, and Blanchard rapped out three hits and drove in four runs.
“After giving up a leadoff single, Bechtold struck out the next nine batters in a row to keep Saranac Lake’s offense in check,” Ticonderoga coach Dan Dorsett said. “Blanchard hit the ball hard all day and added three steals to spark the offense.”
Bechtold did not walk anyone in his five innings on the mound.
Owen teRiele added two hits and Jackson Dorsett a double for the Sentinels, who took charge right from the start with seven runs in the first inning.

LYON MOUNTAIN — The Vikings held a 10-7 lead before breaking the game open with seven runs in the fifth.
Offensively, Michael Bushey led the way for Moriah with a double, two singles and four RBIs.
Bo McGinness also had three hits. Austin Mandy added a single, double and three RBIs and Kohin Sargent two singles and three RBIs. Winning pitcher Billy Orr doubled in two runs, and Owen Bobbie chipped in with two singles.
Anthony Soule and Art Trudo paced the Bobcats with three hits apiece, with Soule getting a double and Trudo driving in two runs.
