LE SUEUR — A search warrant executed earlier this month at a Le Sueur residence led to drug and firearms charges after authorities reported finding 36 grams of cocaine, about 4 grams of fentanyl and a handgun inside the home.
Raymond Lemonte Miller, 55, has been charged in Le Sueur County District Court with first- and second-degree counts of possession and/or sale of controlled substances, along with the illegal possession of firearms or ammunition.
Officers executed a controlled substance search warrant April 2 at a residence on South Fourth Street. Miller was located inside the home along with several other individuals, including one who was found unconscious in a bathtub reportedly after using fentanyl, according to the criminal complaint.
Miller said drugs were inside the residence, including in a safe in an upstairs bedroom, the complaint states. Agents later found the safe along with a digital scale that tested positive for cocaine residue.
Inside the safe, authorities reported finding about 73 small bindles of suspected cocaine, along with packaging materials and $2,150 in cash. The cocaine was estimated to weigh 36.5 grams in total.
Additional items recovered throughout the residence included small amounts of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl in multiple baggies, digital scales and packaging materials.
The fentanyl weighed about 4 grams in total and was found along with cash, identification cards and a 9mm handgun with magazines and ammunition. Miller has prior felony drug convictions in Illinois as well as convictions for crimes of violence, making him ineligible to possess firearms, the complaint states.
Other occupants in the home provided statements regarding living arrangements, noted that children lived there and denied ownership of the drugs and weapons.
