PLAISTOW — Five Plaistow businesses were found in violation of state alcohol regulations this week during a joint enforcement operation conducted by the Plaistow Police Department and the New Hampshire State Liquor Commission.
The establishments flagged for violations included Cumberland Farms #5545, Flaco’s Mexican Restaurant, NH State Liquor Store #49, Northland Variety, and Vape Vibes.
At NH State Liquor Store #49, a clerk failed to request identification and completed a sale to an underage buyer.
Cumberland Farms #5545 and Flaco’s Mexican Restaurant were issued summonses for selling or serving alcohol to underage individuals, said NHLC spokesperson E.J. Powers.
The NH State Liquor Store, Northland Variety and Vape Vibes were cited for failing to follow proper age-verification procedures.
The operation involved compliance checks at 27 licensed establishments throughout Plaistow. During these checks, underage buyers, supervised by NHLC enforcement personnel, attempted to purchase alcohol to ensure staff were adhering to proper ID verification practices, Powers said.
These checks are primarily educational and are part of ongoing efforts by the Plaistow Police Department to prevent underage drinking, said Plaistow Police Chief John Santoro.
“We take underage drinking seriously,” he said. “These operations are about prevention and keeping Plaistow a safe place for our residents.”
