PLATTSBURGH — Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York officially launched the 2026 Girl Scout Cookie Season with a local rally Jan. 24 at the Church of the Nazarene in Plattsburgh, celebrating the start of cookie sales across the region through the end of March.
Girl Scouts from the Plattsburgh area joined together for the kickoff event as they prepared to begin selling the iconic cookies throughout Clinton County and surrounding communities.
The iconic cookie lineup returns this year with longtime favorites, including Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Dos-si-dos, Trefoils, Lemon-Ups, Toffee-tastic and Adventurefuls. Joining the lineup this year is a new cookie, Exploremores, a rocky road ice cream-inspired sandwich cookie featuring chocolate cookies, marshmallow-flavored creme and chocolaty chunks.
“Cookie season is an exciting time for our Girl Scouts,” Brenda Episcopo, CEO of Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York, said in a press release. “Through the Girl Scout Cookie Program, girls gain confidence, build leadership skills and learn real-world lessons in goal setting, money management and teamwork. Every cookie purchase directly supports local girls and their experiences.”
Community members can purchase cookies directly from a local Girl Scout or visit girlscoutcookies.org and use the Cookie Finder tool to locate a nearby troop. In-person cookie booths will begin ramping up mid-February.
All proceeds from cookie sales, both in person and online, stay local to benefit Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York councils and troops. Funds raised support year-round programming, leadership development opportunities and meaningful experiences for girls.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world, providing girls with hands-on experience in decision-making, people skills, business ethics and financial literacy.
