NEWBURYPORT — Hank Phillippi Ryan, the USA Today bestselling author of 16 psychological thrillers, is coming to Joy Nest on Feb. 1, from 3 to 5 p.m. to discuss her latest book, “All This Could Be Yours,” and her upcoming 2026 title, “Mother Daughter Sister Stranger.”
Tickets are $65 and include a signed copy of “All This Could Be Yours” plus light bites and access to a cash bar. Proceeds will benefit the Newburyport Literary Festival, this year taking place from April 24 to 26.
Phillipi Ryan has won five Agathas, five Anthonys, and a coveted Mary Higgins Clark Award, not to mention 37 Emmys for her work as an on-air investigative reporter for Boston’s WHDH-TV, as well as dozens more honors for her groundbreaking journalism and true crime stories.
The event will be upstairs at Joy Nest with fellow thriller writer Connie Johnson Hambley moderating the discussion. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available at www.newburyportliteraryfestival.org. Note location is now at the Joy Nest, not the Firehouse Center for the Arts.
Festival organizers also announced the new date for “Fuente Grande,” a poetry and music performance, on Feb. 15, at 3 p.m. “Fuente Grande,” a one-act play by John Tavano, depicts the last day of Federico García Lorca’s life before his assassination. The play includes García Lorca’s poetry, voiced offstage by Rhina Espaillat and Alfred Nicol; his music, played on Spanish guitar by Tavano; and his songs, sung by Shannon Muhs. There is a cast of about 10 characters.
The play is directed by Marc Clopton. Tickets available at: https://newburyportliteraryfestival.org/fuente-grande-asn/
