The city of Oneonta announced Wednesday the new 115-space public parking lot on Market Street, the site of the former parking garage, is open to the public.
According to a news release, the lot includes 11 spaces reserved for electric vehicle charging, although the Level 2 ChargePoint EV chargers are not yet in service.
A new stair and elevator tower in the northwest corner of the lot is also open, providing an accessible pedestrian connection to Water St.
In addition, the interior walkway from Water St to Main St (formerly known as the arcade) “remains a publicly accessible passage with an elevator and stairs,” the release stated.
As previously announced, Oneonta Public Transit will begin operating out of the new Transit Center at 47 Market St (adjacent to the new parking lot) on Monday, Dec. 1.
