An 18-year-old Buffalo teen was arrested Tuesday night following an investigation into someone trying to enter cars in Pendleton.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about 7:50 p.m. reporting a person trying to enter parked cars on Creekbend Drive. Shortly thereafter, deputies received additional reports of vehicle thefts nearby on Edgewater Circle.
An investigation revealed that two vehicles were stolen from two homes on Edgewater Circle. With the assistance of New York State Police, one of the stolen vehicles, a 2015 BMW, was stopped in the Town of Cheektowaga on the I-90 and the driver was arrested.
Roberto R. Leon III, 18, of Buffalo, was charged with a felony count of third-degree grand larceny, second-degree criminal mischief and unlicensed operation. He was remanded to the Niagara County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
