NEWFANE — Fire broke out in a house on the 2600 block of Transit Road Friday afternoon. All residents were able to evacuate safely prior to first responders’ arrival on the scene, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
Central dispatch fielded a 911 call about a fire inside the residence at 1:02 p.m. Personnel from the Miller Hose and Olcott volunteer fire companies arrived on scene, confirmed a working fire and eventually brought it under control, the sheriff’s office stated.
The county’s Fire Investigation Unit is looking into the cause. No damage estimate was provided.
