KEYSER, W.Va. — Hampshire won the Potomac Valley Conference, Division I championship, held at Polish Pines Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Trojans won with a team score of 315, ahead of Keyser (351), Frankfort (364), Moorefield (366) and Berkeley Springs (369).
Hampshire’s Peyton VanMeter was the low medalist, shooting 74.
Moorefield’s Drake Kimble finished second with a 78 while Hampshire’s Landin Ludwick and Briar Rickman and Frankfort’s Bryson Richardson tied for third with 80s.
Hampshire’s Brayden Hott (81) and Parker Charlton (82), Berkeley Springs’ Cayden Swink (84) and Keyser’s Monk Garland (85), Ryan Pratt (88) and Ian Smith (88) rounded out the top 10.
The top 15 included Trevor Baldwin of Moorefield (89) and Owen Gray of Berkeley Springs (90), Caleb Blacka (90) and Braylen Blowe (90) of Keyser.
Frankfort’s Brennan Wharton (93) finished 16th, ahead of teammate Landon Catlett (94), Jackson Davison of Berkeley Springs (95), Hampshire’s Landon Travis (96) and Frankfort’s Gavin Corwell (97) who made up the top 20.
Frankfort’s Rhett Sensabaugh (98), Moorefield’s Kail Greenwalt (99), Berkeley Springs’ Camden Barney (100), Moorefield’s Veronica Carr (100), Berkeley Springs’ Lu Henry (102), Frankfort’s Ethan Gattens (104), Moorefield’s Thomas Parisi (109) and Marcus Cremann (109) and Keyser’s Evan McDowell (120) rounded out the participants.
Hampshire head coach Chad VanMeter was named the Potomac Valley Conference’s Coach of the Year.
Frankfort, Hampshire, Keyser and Moorefield will play in the Area Championship next Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
They will compete alongside Allegany, Northern, Petersburg and Southern at the Oakland Country Club.
