SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Frankfort opened its season with a sweep of Frankfort on Monday.
The Falcons (1-0) won with scores of 25-12, 25-17 and 25-10.
“CCA fought hard, but had a tough time scoring points in their first away match against a good Frankfort team,” Calvary head coach James O’Donnell said.
In the first set, the Eagles (1-2) kept it close early on.
Tied at 8, Frankfort went on two unanswered runs of five and four points to pull away.
The second set saw the lead change several times before the Falcons took control towards the end.
The third set was defined by Calvary’s struggle to return serves.
Madie Robinette finished with eight digs, three kills, two assists, two aces and a block for the Eagles.
Olivia McCumber added eight digs, six kills, two assists and two aces for Calvary.
Frankfort’s stats were not reported.
Both teams are at home on Thursday.
The Eagles host Turkeyfoot Valley at 5 p.m. before the Falcons face Hampshire at 7:15 p.m.
