A Cumberland Cove area man already facing a host of charges in Criminal Court had cases against him increased with an indictment adding two new charges early this month.
Robert Aguilar Garay III, 42, Flat Rock Place located off Hwy. 70 N., was indicted Aug. 5 on charges of possession of more than 26 grams of meth for sale and delivery and possession of a weapon by a felon.
The indictment alleges the incident occurred Sept. 13, 2024, and was investigated by Cumberland County Sheriff’s Investigators Jake Moore and Lucas Turner, Sgt. Dustin Jackson and Deputy Ben Broderdorf.
Garay is already facing especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated kidnapping, especially aggravated robbery, aggravated robbery, possession of 300 grams or more of meth for sale and delivery, four counts of possession of more than 26 grams of meth for sale, four counts of possession of more than 26 grams of meth for delivery, possession of more than .5 grams of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of a weapon by a felon, burglary and theft.
The total number of charges are in excess of two dozen.
A grand jury is a panel of qualified, randomly selected citizens who review evidence and verifies that those presenting cases had probable cause to believe that a crime has been committed by a criminal suspect. It is not a finding of guilty or innocence.
Garay and all defendants indicted during the Augustgrand jury session are to appear in Criminal Court Sept. 9.

•Donnie J. Rector Jr., altering, falsifying or forging a title or license plate and evading arrest, alleged on Aug. 27, 2024, and investigated by CCSO Investigator Gary Green, Cpl. John Coley, and Deputies Caleb Charles, Gage Gunnells, Eli Tollett and Ethan Wilson.
•Travis Lee Sadula, burglary and theft of property of $1,000 to $2,000, alleged on Oct. 25, 2024, and investigated by CCSO Investigator Bobby Moore, Cpl. Brandon Griffin and Deputy Shane Henderson.
•Donald Ray Shirley Jr., theft of property of up to $1,000 (handgun) and possession of a weapon by a felon, alleged on March 14 and investigated by CPD Lt. Dustin Lester and Ptl. Corey Freeman and CCSO Deputies Shawn Aytes and Blake Richardson.
Possession
•Timothy Alan Cope, possession of 300 grams of meth or more for sale and delivery and possession of hydromorphone, alleged on Feb. 27 and investigated by CCSO Deputies Blake Richardson, Tyler Leary, Levi Gilliam, Zach Early and Sgt. Ryan Ashburn.
•John Edward Fitzjarrell, driving in possession of meth and criminal impersonation, alleged on Feb. 27 and investigated by CCSO Deputies Blake Richardson, Tyler Leary, Levin Gilliam, Zach Early and Sgt. Ryan Ashburn.
•Anthony Mark Klish, possession of 300 grams of meth or more for sale and delivery and resisting arrest, alleged on Sept. 21, 2024, and investigated by Tennessee Highway Patrol Troopers Jack Alderman and Jordan Danner.
•William Joseph Likes, possession of heroin for sale and delivery, possession of .5 grams of fentanyl or greater, possession of meth with intent and simple possession of marijuana, alleged on Jan. 30 and investigated by a host of CCSO and CPD officers. Also, possession of meth alleged on April 2 and investigated by CCSO Investigator Jon Wirey and Deputies Devyn Templeton and Michael Winebarger.
•Melanie Ann Mahaney, possession of .5 grams of fentanyl or more, possession of meth with intent and tampering with evidence, alleged on May 19 and investigated by TBI Special Agent Danny Espinosa, CPD Det. Koby Wilson, CCSO Sgt. Mitchell Ward, CPD Sptl. Keyton Harthun and Cookeville Police officers Caleb Young and Zach Gilpin.
•Brandon Scott Nelson, possession of meth, reckless endangerment, evading arrest, DUI and DUI child endangerment, alleged Nov. 27, 2024, and investigated by a host of CCSO and CPD officers. This is a superseding indictment, replacing an earlier indictment.
•Donnie J. Rector Jr., possession of meth, possession of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) and possession of drug paraphernalia, alleged on Oct. 24, 2024, and investigated by CCSO Investigator Jon Wirey and Deputy Jordan Winningham.
•Timothy Burton Reed, possession of heroin with intent, possession of .5 grams of fentanyl with intent and possession of Tramadol with intent, alleged on June 14 and investigated by CCSO Deputies Blake Richardson and Zach Early and CPD Lt. Dustin Lester and Ptl. Jeremy Beard.
•Randall Scott Sharpe, superseding indictment replacing previously issued document charging possession of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) with intent, possession of Psilocyn with intent, possession of Ketamine with intent and theft of a firearm of up to $1,000, alleged Jan. 31.
•Tina Angelique Sharpe, superseding indictment replacing previously issued document charging possession of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) with intent, possession of Psilocyn with intent, possession of Ketamine with intent and theft of a firearm of up to $1,000, alleged Jan. 31.
