WASECA — The city of Waseca has temporarily closed several lakes and waterways following an emergency discharge of wastewater that may have contaminated local waters.
According to a notice posted on the city of Waseca’s Facebook page, all beaches and boat ramps at Clear Lake are closed until further notice. Rice Lake, Gaiter Lake, Watkins Lake, Moonan Marsh and Crane Creek are also included in the closures.
City officials are urging residents and visitors to avoid contact with water in these areas due to potential health risks associated with contamination.
