Dudek back to England
Former Pinkerton hockey star J.D. Dudek is heading back to the British Elite Ice Hockey League, after signing with the Manchester (England) Storm, the team recently announced.
Dudek spent two seasons in the EIHL with the Coventry Blaze (2022-24), scoring 19 goals in 77 games. He returned to America for the 2024-25 season with the ECHL’s Worcester Railers, notching three goals and 10 assists in 38 games.

Brooks adds Turner
A promising young area athlete is moving to the Brooks School sideline — and dugout — starting this fall.
Pentucket two-sport standout Kai Turner has transferred to Brooks, where he’ll reclassified and repeat his freshman year as part of the Class of 2029. The Groveland native is an up-and-coming quarterback/cornerback, who saw some varsity time with Pentucket last fall.
Turner also put together a solid freshman year for the Panthers’ baseball team this spring. The 6-foot-2 righty pitcher tossed 10 innings with five strikeouts and a 3.50 ERA, and at the plate went 8 for 38 with four runs scored and three RBI.
You may recall, Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth started his career at Pentucket, before transferring to Brooks to play for his cousin, football coach Pat Foley.
Farnham honored
The American Hockey League’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced their all-time Top 25 players in franchise history, and North Andover’s Bobby Farnham was one of the players honored. The team has been in existence since 1981.
Farnham played three seasons for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for (2012-15). He scored 17 goals 191 games, but was best known for his work as a tough guy, frequently engaging in fights despite standing just 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds. He was frequently listed as one of the top fighters during his tenure in the AHL and parts of three seasons in the NHL with the Penguins (2014-16), New Jersey Devils (2015-16) and Montreal Canadiens (2016-17). He retired following the 2019-20 season.
Steen picks Endicott
Central Catholic (class of 2025) wide receiver/defensive back Jack Steen will play his college football at Endicott College, he recently announced. Also a talented track athlete, he threw the javelin 136-5 this spring.
