OAKLAND — A Garrett County woman was charged with impersonating a police officer and assault Thursday after she allegedly displayed a badge during an altercation in a grocery store parking lot.
Kimberly Dee Trickett, 64, of Oakland, on Thursday was served a criminal summons, a court order requiring an individual to appear in court, according to electronic court records. Both charges are misdemeanors.
Maryland State Police said the incident happened about 10 a.m. The victim, a 19-year-old woman, was reportedly traveling on Garrett Highway when she pulled out in front of a vehicle driven by Trickett.
The victim then pulled into the parking lot of a grocery store and Trickett allegedly followed and approached the victim’s vehicle. Police said a physical altercation occurred before Trickett displayed a badge against the victim’s driver side window. Trickett then left the area.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
