NEWBURYPORT — The Firehouse Center for the Arts on Friday, Sept. 20, at 7:30 p.m. will host Feeling Groovy, a highly acclaimed Simon & Garfunkel tribute band from San Francisco, backed by members of the popular local band Don’t Call Me Shirley.
The evening marks a homecoming for Feeling Groovy singer Dave Brouillette who lived in Newburyport before moving to San Francisco. There, his new band has been selling out theaters with their authentic and heartfelt renditions of Simon & Garfunkel’s iconic folk-rock classics.
Joining him on stage will be his singing partner, Malcolm Johnson. Backing Brouillette and Johnson are locals Ron Chane on bass, Mark Luchini on guitar, Matt Beard on drums and Charlie Wear on keyboards.
Fans can expect to hear all the timeless hits, from “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “The Sound of Silence” to “Mrs. Robinson” and “Cecilia.”
