Orleans/Niagara BOCES saw 20 students attend the recent GED graduation ceremony, celebrating their achievement alongside family, friends, and staff. In total, more than 100 students earned their High School Equivalency diplomas this year.
The event was held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Niagara, 639 Main St., Niagara Falls, on July 10, with Mayor Robert Restaino serving as the keynote speaker.
“It’s taken ten years to get here. I’ve battled with life challenges and people who didn’t want to see me succeed — but here I am, proving them all wrong with those who believed and supported me along the way! You got this!” says graduate, Paris Klaczyk, who also received the Perseverance Award.
GED Instructor Erica Kopp said this about the ceremony, “Watching our students walk across that stage is one of the greatest joys of this job. Every single graduate has overcome obstacles, doubts, and setbacks — and still kept going. Their determination inspires me every day. I’m proud beyond words.”
