REPUBLIC, Pa. — The Potomac Valley Mudcats rode a six-run fifth inning to a 10-1 rout of Brownsville County in Fayette County Baseball League acton on Monday at Redstone Park.
Potomac Valley (15-1) was led by Noah Broadwater (Garrett/Keyser) with a triple, a double and three runs scored.
Carson Bradley (Allegany College/Mountain Ridge) and JJ Charlton (Garrett/Hampshire) both went 2 for 3 with a double, Seth Healy (WVU Potomac State/Keyser), Logan Rotruck (Potomac State/Keyser), Tyson Shumaker (Salem/Mountain Ridge) and Conner Blake all had two runs batted in.
Blake was the winning arm, tossing four shutout innings of four-hit ball.
Potomac Valley, a game-and-a-half ahead of Carmichaels for first place in the FCBL, faces Mill Run at the Farmington Ballfields on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
