Spotlight Performing Artists will present “Bye Bye Birdie,” the beloved Broadway classic, at the Kenan Center’s Taylor Theatre. Musical performances are set for 7 p.m. Friday, 1 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
After a sold-out January production, Spotlight Performing Artists returns with a summer show for the whole family. “Bye Bye Birdie” features music and vibrant choreography, taking audiences back to the 1950s with a comedic story of rock-n-roll, teenage fandom and the challenges of fame.
This production stars Timiyah Love as Rosie, Aaron Saldana as Albert Peterson, Chloe Larson as Kim MacAfee and Ryan Butler as Conrad Birdie, along with a cast of talented local teenagers and professionals. The entire cast brings new energy to this timeless musical, with performances that are sure to leave the audience tapping their toes and humming along.
“After the success of our January production, we’re excited to bring ‘Bye Bye Birdie’ to Lockport this summer,” director Katie Mussachio said. “The talent we have in this cast is extraordinary, and we’re proud to showcase both the dedication of our young performers and the expertise of our veteran actors.”
