Wellpoint, a leading provider of managed care services, recently announced that Alicia Kenyon, MSW, has been named president of its Medicaid Health Plan in Western New York.
In this role, she will lead Wellpoint’s partnership with the region’s largest health plan, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. Wellpoint provides management services for over 60,000 Western New Yorkers who are enrolled with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Medicaid Managed Care, Essential Plan, Health and Recovery Plan, and Child Health Plus programs.
Kenyon brings over a decade of executive leadership experience and is eager to foster innovative initiatives that will strengthen relationships between payors and providers. Her expertise in government relations, regulatory affairs and member engagement have allowed her to successfully navigate the ongoing changes in the healthcare industry. This experience equips her to effectively address vital issues related to social determinants of health, maternal and child health outcomes, the management of chronic conditions, and the enhancement of access to care. Alicia is also dedicated to collaborating with rural counties in Western New York to identify programs that better serve residents in those regions.

Kenyon is a graduate of Hobart and Williams Smith Colleges and holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Buffalo. She is also an adjunct instructor at the University at Buffalo and serves on multiple boards. She resides in Niagara Falls with her family.
