The Fairfield Glade Women’s 18-Hole League raised $12,222 for the CMC Regional Cancer Center at their June 10 Rally for Hope event.
The scramble was played on the Heatherhurst Crag Course with 36 four-person teams.
The league thanks Logan from rent-a-pro and sponsors Dee and Dennis Nannini.
“We were fortunate enough this year to have a team with Dr. Margulies a surgeon, and Dr. Martin a radiologist playing with two cancer survivors,” said the league.
Dr. Mark, a radiologist from the Cancer Center gave a talk about many of the treatments available at the Cancer Center that are less invasive than the treatment from even a few years ago.
Trena Waldo, CMC marketing director, arranged for CMC to provide a lunch of salad greens, tomato, cucumbers, cheeses, dried cranberries, pecans and chicken breast. All was served by Alese and Lydia from CMC.
After play the teams were divided into four flights with scorecard playoffs used to break ties. The first place winners in the first flight were Chris Kencitzski, Fran Hopp, Michele Dodson and Tina Wheeler with 52. Second place went to John Randall, James Castle, Jamie Castle and John Ryan with 54. Finishing in third place were Bill Vorst, Sid Miller, Dennis Stanton and Walt Renton with 55.
Finishing in first place in the second flight were Brenda DeGeer, Pam Schwer, Betty Haser and Donna Walters with 60. Second place went to Julie Cook, Joan Peters, Vikki Bradshaw and Patty Gates with 60. The third place team was Jean Kraft, Cyndi Buckley, Diane Roise and Luba Kapalko with a 60 also.
Finishing in first place in the third flight were Susan Fiebig, Julie Kratt, Brenda Davis and Sophie Nahod with 62. Second place went to Tina Bezek, Dee Crooks, Sandy Naruszewicz and Cathy Tipton with 62. Finishing in third place were Valerie Lynch, Cindy Hales, Jennifer Sanderson and Tim Lynch with 63.
The fourth flight first place winners were Tom Kress, Joann Kress John Frey and Rhonda Pariso-Frey with 66. Second place went to Mary Listenberger, Sherry Stanley, Lois Arce and Sue Koss with 66. Finishing in third place were Cathy Teegarden, Mary Seidl, Sharon Rakowski and Jan Murphy also with 66.
“Thank you to the pros for tallying all our scores, the golfing participants and league and individuals who donated prizes to help us raise so much for the CMC,” said the league. “It goes a long way to help those fighting cancer with the things that Insurance and Grants can’t cover for the wellbeing of those in the middle of this battle.”
