The 51st annual Day of Prayer for Life was held on June 18 at St. Francis Church, Teutopolis.
The Opening Mass at 8 a.m. was celebrated by Father Dennis Koopman, OFM, followed by continuous prayer and Eucharistic Adoration by area churches and organizations throughout the day.
The Rev. Michal Rosa, pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Effingham, was the honored celebrant at the closing 7:30 p.m. Mass, with concelebrants Father John Titus, Father Joe Carlos, OFM, Father James Flach, Father Michael Berndt, and Father Seth Brown. Seminarians Joseph Tuttle and Martin McGrath were servers, along with Eric Habing.
Thanks to those involved in the event include the prayer leaders, priests, servers, musicians, sacristans, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Honor Guards, lectors and gift bearers, as well as the St. Francis Council of Catholic Women for hosting a reception after the closing Mass.
